Ways Entrepreneurs Can Better Manage Their Time



Starting your own business can be an incredibly exciting process. There, in front of you, is a company that is all yours. But after a while, it all sinks in. The success of this startup depends on its only employee...you. The main problem with being the only person within your entrepreneurship is that the buck always stops with you. If it doesn't get done, it's because you didn't do it, and that can become amazingly stressful after a few months. You can easily feel that you do not have enough time to get all of the essential tasks done each week, let alone look for new work or expand your creative ideas.

You need to perfect the art of time management, and thankfully it is not as difficult as it sounds! Here are three ways that solo entrepreneurs, or solopreneurs, can better manage their time:

  

This doesn't mean spending hours and hours on a job that really has already been completed. Instead, when you have a deadline that you absolutely must stick to, give yourself the deadline of a day or two before it. Not only will this keep you concentrating properly, but if anything happens ñ a family crisis, a loss of data, or a change in the circumstances of the task, then you have that grace period to sort everything out. It is always better to finish earlier rather than later.



There is no point in writing a to do list at nine in the morning if you do not look at it for the rest of the day! Your to do list is there to keep you in check, so do not hide from it. Of course, there is absolutely no shame in not being able to get it all done, but then you need to use that to create your to do list for the next day.




Many solopreneurs will start off their business lives working from home, and that is one of the biggest downfalls. It is all too difficult to keep one's personal life away from one's business life. Every time the doorbell rings, the phone rings, a child needs comforting, you are dragged away from your desk and you lose another twenty minutes. You will need to make a rule that during working hours, which you can set it is as if you are not at home. No one can disturb you unless it is an emergency.
