Many of my clients wonder if they should use Instagram for business.
After Instagram became the 2nd largest way of selling product for many of those clients I came up with a list of reasons why!
- Complete your bio fully and represent your brand.
- Make your username related to your business
- Keep your name simple
- Website in bio – Also phone number
- Use a recognizable photo
- Make sure your posts are PUBLIC
- Get creative add things from around the house or office.
- Learn how to use the edit tools
- Use filters
- Determine what artistic effect best represents your brand
- Post 1 to 2 times a day
- Use a variety of posts that showcase you, your brand, your customers, your products, etc.
- Use Instagram to advertise sales or provide exclusive discount codes
- Use the @name to respond to followers comments (otherwise, they won’t see your response)
- Like a LOT of posts –causes more action.
- Use a mix of photos and videos
- Use relevant hashtags to boost reach
- Don’t use popular hashtags, if unrelated, just to get exposure
- Space out your posts – don’t crowd the feed with your posts
- Follow more people to get more followers
- Follow people interested in your industry
- Monitor and analyze your stats and engagement (I recommend statigr.am)
- Know which days and times are the best to share your posts
- Have small contests
- Engage the viewer.
